Q 1. Where can I recruit Omani candidates for my company?
We can recruit and train Omani candidates for your company.
Q 2. What is the procedure for recruiting and training Omani candidates for my company?
The company should write a letter to the Ministry of Manpower detailing:
- the number of candidates required for recruitment and training
- recruitment criteria
- job responsibilities
- monthly salary
The institute will assist the company with the above.
Q 3. Who will shortlist and select Omani candidates for training and employment for my company?
The institute and the Ministry of Manpower will shortlist candidates from their databases for you to interview and select candidates.
Q 4. Where are the interviews conducted?
The interviews are conducted in the Ministry of Manpower.
Q 5. What happens once the candidates are selected for training and employment?
A training contract will be signed between the candidate, the company, the institute and the Ministry of Manpower before the training starts.
Q 6. How long is the training period?
The training period ranges from 6-8 months and includes off-job training in the institute and on-job training in the company.
Q 7. Who will pay for the training of the candidates?
The Ministry of Manpower will pay for the training of the candidates.
Q 8. Does the company have to pay a salary to the candidates while they are under training?
No, a monthly stipend is paid to the candidates by the institute.
Q 9. What is the obligation of the company?
The company has to register the candidates under social insurance at the start of the training and during the training period pay for both parties (the company and the candidate).
Q 10. How does the registration of candidates under social insurance during the training period benefit the company?
The candidates are included in the Omanisation figures of the company.
Q 11. Once the training has commenced can a candidate leave the programme?
After the first month of training the candidate will be held responsible for breaking the training contract and will be liable to pay the training cost to the Ministry of Manpower.
Q 12. Can the company terminate the training contract of a candidate?
The company can request the Ministry of Manpower to terminate the training contract of the candidate under training due to specific issues like poor attendance and timekeeping.
Q 13. What happens if the company terminates the training contract of a candidate without a valid reason?
If the candidate is terminated without a valid reason the company will be held responsible for breaking the training contract and will be liable to pay the training cost to the Ministry of Manpower.
Q 14. When does the candidate sign an employment contract of a candidate with the company?
The candidate signs an employment contract with the company on completion of the training as per the terms and conditions agreed on signing the training contract.
Q 15. What happens if the company does not give an employment contract to the candidate once he/she finishes training?
The company will be held responsible for breaking the training contract and will be liable to pay the training cost to the Ministry of Manpower.

Q 1. How can I register for training in the institute?
You can come to the institute and register with us for training. Bring the following with you:
- a copy of your school certificates
- a copy of your ID card
- a copy of your manpower card
- 4 passport size photographs
Q 2. When can I start the training
in the institute?
Once you are interviewed and selected by one of the many prestigious private sector companies that we work with and you have signed the training contract.
Q 3. Who do I sign the training contract with?
You sign the training contract with the company that has selected you, the institute and the Ministry of Manpower before the training starts.
Q 4. How long is the training period?
The training period ranges from 6-8 months and includes off-job training in the institute and on-job training in the company.
Q 5. Why is the training so long?
The training period is specified by the Ministry of Manpower and gives you the time needed to acquire the skills to carry out your job efficiently.
Q 6. Who will pay for my training?
The Ministry of Manpower pays for your training.
Q 7. How much stipend will I get?
You will get a stipend of RO 70 per month.
Q 8. Does the institute provide transportation?
No, the candidates have to arrange and pay for their own transportation.
Q 9. Can I leave the training?
You are allowed to leave the training within the first month of the training only.
Q 10. What happens if I want to leave the training after a few months?
You will be held responsible for breaking the training contract and will be liable to pay the training cost to the Ministry.
Q 11. Can the company/institute terminate my training contract?
The company/institute can request the Ministry of Manpower to terminate your training contract due to specific issues like poor attendance, timekeeping, attitude and performance. You will be held responsible for breaking the training contract and will be liable to pay the training cost to the Ministry.
Q 12. If I don’t like the company can I change in the middle of the training?
No, you are bound by the training contract signed at the commencement of the training.
Q 13. If I am absent will my stipend be deducted?
Stipend will be deducted for any unauthorized absence from the institute or the company.
Q 14. What is authorized absence?
Being absent due to illness/death in the family/permission taken from the institute or company and supported with relevant documentation is considered authorized absence.
Q 15. What is unauthorized absence?
Absence from the institute or the company without any information or without taking any permission from the institute or the company is considered unauthorized absence.
Q 16. How many days per week will I go for on-job training?
On-job training will take place from Saturday until Thursday
(as per the working days of the company).
Q 17. How many hours per day will I go for on-job training?
On-job training will take be for 8 hours per day (as per the working hours of the company).
Q 18. Will I go for on-job training in straight shifts or split shifts?
On-job training shifts will be as per the working shifts of the company.
Q 19. Will there be tests during the training?
Yes, regular tests will be conducted throughout the training.
Q 20. What certificate will I receive?
A certificate from the institute stamped by the Ministry of Manpower will be given to you on successful completion of the training programme.
Q 21. When will I receive the certificate?
The certificate will be given to you after it is stamped and released by the Ministry of Manpower.
Q 22. After the completion of the training will I be able to choose the branch/outlet that I work in?
No, the company has the right to allocate you to any branch/outlet within the Sultanate of Oman.
Q 23. What happens if I do not join the company after training?
You will be held responsible for breaking the training contract and will be liable to pay the training cost to the Ministry of Manpower.
Q 24. After signing the employment contract for how long do I need to work with the company?
As per the training contract signed at the start of the training you must work with the same company for one year after the completion of the training and signing of the employment contract.
