RAMADAN TIMINGS - 2014

The Holy month of Ramadan begins on 29th June and is likely to end on 28th July. Please also note that the timing and duration of courses as well as the assessments for most courses have had to be adapted to ensure that courses are completed by 1pm each afternoon.

TATI will be working from 6:30 am to 1 pm.

 

The defensive-driver-training programmes are designed to deliver classroom-based theory modules followed by on-road assessment of current practices which lead to targeted training in readiness for final assessment by PDO’s Standards Body, SDI-SHEIDA.

Muscat (Madinat Al-Sultan Qaboos), Al Khoudh, Nimr and Fahud

Arabic, English and Hindi

Instructors:

All approved by PDO’s Standards Body and holders of fleet-driver-trainer diplomas issued under the UK’s Driving
Standards Agency. All training of TATI DD trainers is accredited by the UK-based and world-renowned Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)

Nominees attending DD03 (graded road) courses should note that if they hold both Light and Heavy PDO DD permits, they MUST produce a HEAVY vehicle in which to complete the DD03 course. This is the case even if they mostly drive Light vehicles for their work. Anyone producing a Light vehicle who holds both Light and Heavy DD permit will be no-showed and the full course fees will be payable.

In case of Heavy vehicles, the Nominator must indicate if they require TATI to provide a 3.5 tone vehicle. This facility is only available for Omanis, not expatriates.

DD01-Light Vehicle Blacktop
- You MUST bring the following documents with you to the course (NOT PHOTOCOPIES):
>> ROP Driving License-In cases of light vehicle please, see that the nominee must hold a ‘light license’, not a ‘private/light’.
>> PDO HSE Passport showing a valid HSE Induction Course has been complete

- Training course will be conducted in MANUAL TRANSMISSION vehicles. It is therefore important to ensure you are licensed to drive such vehicles.
- Sturdy shoes MUST be worn.
- The minimum age for the Defensive Driving Course is 21 years.

DD02-Heavy Vehicle Blacktop
- You MUST bring the following documents with you to the course (NOT PHOTOCOPIES):
>> An appropriate ROP Driving license.
>> PDO HSE Passport

- Nominees bringing their own heavy vehicle must bring written legal authority from their company, or other provider, to prove who owns the vehicle and that it is legally insured to be used for training/ assessment purposes.
- In case of Heavy vehicles, the Nominator must bring his own vehicle.
- Please, indicate if you require TATI to provide a 3.5 tone vehicle. This facility is only available for Omanis, not expatriates.
- Overalls and Sturdy shoes MUST be worn.

DD03-Light Vehicle Graded
- You MUST bring the following documents with you to the course (NOT PHOTOCOPIES):
>> An appropriate ROP Driving license.
>> PDO DD permit
>> PDO HSE Passport

- All training courses are conducted in MANUAL TRANSMISSION vehicles. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure you are licensed to drive such vehicles (i.e. your license is not for automatics only).
- Graded course takes place either in Fahud or in Nimr.

DD03-Heavy Vehicle Graded

- In case of Tanker module, the Nominator must bring his own vehicle.

DD05 Bus Course
- You MUST bring the following documents with you to the course (NOT PHOTOCOPIES):
>> An appropriate ROP Driving license.
>> PDO DD permit
>> PDO HSE Passport

- A valid license for a minimum of 8 years
- A valid HGV license for a minimum of 4 years if driving Heavy Buses
- Overalls and Sturdy shoes MUST be worn.

DD07- Family Course
- You MUST bring the following document with you to the course (NOT PHOTOCOPIES):
>> ROP Driving License

- Training course will be conducted in MANUAL TRANSMISSION vehicles, unless specified otherwise. It is therefore important to ensure you are licensed to drive such vehicles.
- Sturdy shoes MUST be worn.
- The minimum age for the Course is 18 years.

SJM-
Please, note the Prerequisites for SJM is:

  • PDO-approved PDO HSE Passport containing:

  • HSE Induction Course

  • Initial Fire Response (IFR)

  • Current DDC01 entry in PDO HSE Passport AND valid DDC01 permit (light vehicle blacktop)

  • Supervisors: Safety Leadership for Supervisors (SLS)

  • Aged 25 or over

  • Valid ROP-issued ID or Residency Card

  • Coaching, Mentoring & Performance Assessment (CMC)

  • HSE Tools & Skills (HTS)

  • Manager: Safety Leadership for Managers (SLM)

    NB: As per Appendix F of SP1157 Revision 1.1 dated February 2012, and/or managers who are responsible for the operational management of driving to attend SJM courses. Also HSE Advisers.

SJM-Resfresher

NB: As per Appendix F of SP1157 Revision 1.1 dated February 2012, (effective June 2012), PDO only permits first-line supervisors and/or managers who are responsible for the operational management of driving to attend SJM courses. Also HSE Advisers.

You MUST bring a valid PDO HSE Passport SHOWING that the following courses have been completed and valid:

  • SJM

  • HSE Induction Course

  • Initial Fire Response (IFR)

  • Current DDC01 entry in HSE passport AND valid DDC01 permit (light vehicle blacktop)

  • Coaching, Mentoring & Performance Assessment (CMC)

  • HSE Tools & Skills (HTS)

  • Manager: Safety Leadership for Managers (SLM)

  • Supervisors: Safety Leadership for Supervisors (SLS)

  • Valid ROP driving licence or Residency/ID Card

Please also note that the date of this course MUST be no later than THREE MONTHS after the expiry of your current SJM certification. If this is not the case, you should take steps to cancel the course more than 72 hours before its commencement or your fees will be forfeited. If you turn up on the day and your existing certificate expired more than three months previously, you will be registered as a ‘no-show’ and fees will be forfeited.
